TERMS & CONDITIONS
As Metro Designer Cake is a boutique studio, we only take on a certain amount of orders per week. To secure your date, a NON REFUNDABLE retainer of 50% must be paid. On receiving your order, your booking will then be confirmed with an invoice. Your booking is only acknowledged once the retainer is paid. The remaining 50% must be made 2 weeks prior to your event. Wedding cakes MUST be paid for in full 1 month prior to the wedding. Bookings made with less than 2 weeks notice must be paid for in full prior to commencement of the order.
CANCELLATIONS
Metro Designer Cakes reserves the right to cancel any order, at any time due to sickness or personal circumstances. (INCLUDING THE NEED TO ISOLATE DUE TO PANDEMIC RELATED ISSUES) In this event, the full deposit will be returned & MDC will do their best to acquire an alternate cake designer. PLEASE NOTE; THE QUOTE MAY NOT BE THE SAME. IT WOULD BE UP TO THE DESCRECTION OF THE ALTERNATE CAKE DESIGNER
In the event that we go into lockdown at the time of your event, your deposit will be moved to an alternate date, (depending on availability. We will do our best to move your order to another date!)
This MUST be communicated by email. Only once we have received an email from you confirming your postponement, due to pandemic restrictions, will your booking be moved. This must be done with a minimum of 3 days notice. Any email requests, shorter than 3 days notice may forfeit your deposit.
Should you cancel your event completely (reasons due to a pandemic & WITHONLY 3 WEEKS NOTICE, ) only 50% of your deposit will be eligible for refund. ALL OTHER CANCELLATIONS WILL FORFEIT YOUR DEPOSIT (each situation will be taken into consideration)

FACTS & QUESTIONS
- Can I pick up my cake from your studio? Unfortunately we don't allow cakes to be picked up. We don't charge any additional fees to deliver your cake locally around Adelaide. (within 15kms of Flinders Pk). Additional suburbs will incur a small delivery fee, depending on the order size & distance. We would rather deliver the cake to you, that way, we know that the cake arrives in one piece & it's one thing you don't need to worry about!
- How early should I book my cake in? As soon as you know you want us to create your cake! Because we care more about quality, over quantity, we don't take on as many cakes as other studios, which results in us often being booked out! We would suggest as soon as you have your date & venue worked out, contact us to start the process (Unless you know exactly what you want, there's often a design, then quoting process that takes time)
- Can I try your cakes? Absolutely! Through out the year, we will have tasting boxes available to purchase. These can be purchased directly through our shop or contact us to be put on a waiting list.
- Can I have fresh flowers on my cake? Unfortunately I am no longer having fresh flowers on my cakes. Most flowers these days are highly sprayed with insectisides. You can have either hand crafted sugar flowers, which can then be kept as a keepsake or artificial flowers
- Do I contact my venue & arrange delivery of the cake? ABSOLUTELY NOT! That's what we're here to do! Once you book in & pay your deposit, we handle the rest. Your job is to sit back & relax (At least with the cake, anyway!) We will contact your event coordinator & liase with them delivery & set up of your cake.
- I want Metro Designer Cakes to make my cake, what do I do next? After receiving a quote, return email, confirming you would like to proceed with the quote. We will then issue you an invoice for the full amount (ONLY 50% IS REQUIRED TO BOOK YOUR CAKE IN. WE WILL STATE THE DEPOSIT AMOUNT ON YOUR EMAIL!) Only once the deposit is paid, is your cake booked in. Please be aware, most cakes take quite a few weeks to produce (not the cake itself but the decorations & planning) Sugar flowers & toppers require drying time which may mean the cake itself will take a few weeks to produce. Unfortunately, if you hold off on paying a deposit, we may not be able to accommodate your order.
- Can I pop in & just have a chat about my cake? As much as I like to chat, we don't allow clients to just drop in. Please ring or email Belinda to organise an appointment.
